Intensive Family Intervention (IFI) is family centered and delivered to a targeted population of families at greater risk of disruption. Therapeutic services are provided to children 5 years and above who have been diagnosed with severe emotional and mental disorders. These services are provided by highly educated and experienced team of three professionals; a team leader who is licensed by the State of Georgia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CACII) and two to three fulltime paraprofessionals who work under the supervision of the Team Leader. Caseloads are kept low to provide maximum monitoring for safety and allow for the level of interaction between the IFI team, the client and the family. Primarily, services are provided in the home, however other locations include communities where the target behavior may manifest including schools and after school programs. The service is short term (90 - 270 days) and it is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Individual and family therapy, skills building, anger management, behavior modification, alcohol and drug intervention, parent education, and strengthening of family and peer relationship are fundamental.
